Their Cinderella seasons continue as District 5-3A rivals Mamou and Church Point advance to the LHSAA state softball semifinals at Frasch Park in Sulphur.
No. 20 Church Point earned a 3-2 win over No, 5 Kaplan in the quarterfinals, while No. 7 Mamou rolled to an 11-1 road win over No. 10 Sterlington.
Church Point (18-13) will take on top-seed Brusly (32-2) at 1:30 p.m. Friday, while Mamou (19-8) will face No. 3 Caldwell Parish (24-5).
Brusly advanced with a 6-2 win over No. 8 South Beauregard, while Caldwell Parish rolled to 15-0 mercy-rule victory over No. 6 Erath in the quarterfinals.

Mamou 14, Berwick 4
BERWICK – Mamou opened the game with three runs in the top of the first and exploded for six runs in the top of the fourth inning as the Lady Demons earned a 14-4 win over the Lady Panthers.
April Menier led off with a single, Madison Fontenot walked and Dacia Richard blasted a home run over the centerfield fence to push the Lady Demons up 3-0.
After Berwick tied the game with three runs in the bottom of the second inning, the Lady Demons answered with a run in the top of the third when Richard walked with two outs and courtesy runner Alyssa West scored on a hit by Terranie Thomas.
Mamou’s six run explosion in the fourth frame was begun when Emily Soileau hit a two-out double and scored on a hit by Madison Fontenot.
After Richard walked for the second time in the game, Taylor Douget ripped a two-RBI double to push the Lady Demona up, 7-3.
Douget scored on a hit by Thomas and Terraline Fontenot followed with a home run over the left field fence to increaase the Mamou’s lead to 10-3.
The Lady Demons’ offensive surge continued in the top of the fifth frame as Menier doubled, Soileau reached on an error and Richard walked to load the bases before Douget’s double pushed in Menier and Soileau.
Mamou added two insurance runs in the top of the sevent, begun as Soileau reached on an error and scored when Madison Fontenot also advanced on a Berwick miscue.
Richard’s ground-out allowed Fontenot to cross home plate for a 14-3 Lady Demon advantage.
Two walks and a pair of Lady Demon errors allowed Berwick to push a run across in the bottom of the seventh before Mamou catcher Douget snares a pop foul to end the game.
Douget was the Lady Demons’ top hitter as she went 3-for-5 with four RBI, while Richard finished 1-for-2 with three walks and four RBI.
Menier went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, while Thomas finished 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Richard earned the complete game win as she allowed three earned runs on eight hits with seven strikeouts and five walks.

CPHS 3, Kaplan 2
CHURCH POINT – The Lady Bears advanced to the Class 3-A semfianls with a 3-2 win over Kaplan
Church Point finished as the state runners-up in 1994 with a 6-4 loss to Grant.
The Lady Bears fell in the 1995 semifinals with a 2-1 loss to Tioga.
Against Kaplan. Church Point struck first with two runs in the first inning, begun when Hailie Doucet reached base and was brought home by a double from Taiza Jones.
Jones then stole home to push the Lady Bears up 2-0
The Lady Pirates rallied in the third inning as Kinley Duhon singled, stole second and was driven in by a Meryl Guidry hit.
Lauren Packard ripped a single to center to score Guidry to force a 2-2 tie.
The Lady Bears grabbed a one-run lead in the fifth inning as Doucet singled, and scored Lindsi Meche’s hit.
Just like in Mamou’s win, catcher Amelia Dailey snared a foul ball for the final out to seal Church Point’s win.
The Lady Bears were led by leadoff hitter Hailee Doucet, who went 3-for-3 with two runs scored.
Jones was 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Earning the win was freshman pitcher Madison Fruge, who struck out four, walked two allowed five hits,
Kaplan pitcher Carina Chargois finished with nine strikeouts and allowed six hits in the loss.
