During the summer workouts, each football team has a goal to win their respective districts and make a deep run in the playoffs.
St. Edmund rolled to a 10-2 overall record in 2017 and went a perfect 7-0 in District 4-1A for the district championship
The Blue Jays open the 2018 season at home against Hanson Memorial (3-8 in 2017)
St. Edmund then travels to Sacred Heart of Ville Platte (8-3) and Mamou (1-9).
The Blue Jays open district at rival Basile (9-4, 6-1) before entertaining South Cameron (0-9, 0-7).
St. Edmund will visit Elton (7-4, 4-3) before facing 2016 district champions Oberlin (7-5, 4-3) at home.
The Blue Jays travel to Grand Lake (2-8, 1-6) before closing the regular season at home against Hamilton Christian (2-7, 2-5) and Merryville (6-5, 4-3).
Eunice (5-6 overall, 4-3 in District 4-3A) is looking to fight for the district title
The Bobcats open the season at Opelousas (5-5) and Jennings (10-3)) as the Bulldogs advanced to the Class 3-A semifinals last season.
The Bobcats then entertain Rayne (10-3) to face a Wolves team that advanced to the semifinal round of the Class 4-A playoffs.
Eunice visits Crowley (8-5, 4-3) on Sept. 20 in the district opener.
The Bobcats face Church Point (9-2, 7-0) before a trip to Port Barre (0-10).
The Bobcats then entertain Pine Prairie (3-7, 2-5) and Mamou (1-9, 1-6) and former EHS assistant coach Dwight Collins.
Eunice will travel to Northwest (9-4, 5-2) as the Raiders advanced to the state quarterfinals for the third straight year.
The Bobcats close the regular season at home against Iota (9-3, 5-2).
Church Point won the 2017 District 5-3A title and open the season at home against Jennings before a trip to Abbeville (2-8).
Church Point visits Class 3-A state semifinalists Kaplan (10-4) before opening district play at home against Pine Prairie.
A road battle against rival Eunice on Sept. 28 is followed by a home game with Northwest.
The Bears travel Iota before entertaining Crowley in the final home game.
