Rayne downs Lady Cats

The Lady Cats kept the game close until halftime, but Rayne controlled the second half as the Lady Wolves cruised to a 49-21 District 4-4A win over Eunice.
Saige Freeman’s buckets helped the Lady Cats tie the game twice early before Rayne responded with an 8-0 run including six points from Braille Washington.
Madison Freeman scored on a lay-up at the buzzer to help the Lady Cats close the gap to 12-6.
Eunice responded with a 11-4 run in the second quarter to take a 17-16 advantage into intermission.
A put-back and two free throws by Saige Freeman and another free throw by Alana Bushnell to close the margin to 12-11 midway through the period.
Rayne responded with buckets by Jada Hamilton and Sarigh Mitchell for a 16-11 advantage.
Eunice’s Madison Freeman scored twice in the lane and Bushnell scored on a put-back bucket as the Lady Cats gained a slim lead at the break.
The Lady Wolves opened the second half with a 16-4 surge, sparked by 10 points from Washington.
Allison Freeman and Madison Freeman hit two free throws each for the Lady Cats in the period.
Rayne took a 32-21 lead into the fourth quarter and the Lady Wolves sealed the win with a 17-0 run.
Washington pushed in nine points in the period to finish with 27 points.
Mitchell chipped in seven points in the quarter to finish with 19 points.
Saige Freeman led the Lady Cats with eight points.

EHS 82, Mamou 53
The Bobcats exploded for 48 second-half points as Eunice cruised to a 82-53 victory over Mamou.
Eunice (10-3, 1-0) travels to Washington-Marion (13-6) Friday for a District 4-4A contest.
Mamou (6-15) held an 11-10 advantage after the first quarter, sparked by five points from Collin Enicke.
The Bobcats responded with aa 24-12 second quarter surge, aided by seven points each from Treylon Cooper and Ty’shun Joseph.
EHS took a 34-23 lead into intermission and the Bobcats expanded their margin with a 21-10 third quarter run.
Cooper drilled two treys in the period, while Terrance Shilow chipped in five points.
The Bobcats out-scored the Green Demons 27-17 in the final period to seal the win.
Dedric Vigers scored 10 points in the quarter to finish with 16 points.
Three other Bobcats scored in double figures including Cooper (15 points), Joseph (13 points) and Shawn Hudson (12 points).
Enicke led Mamou with 18 points.
