Seven EHS athletes named Academic All-State

Seven local high school athletes have earned a spot on the Louisiana High School Athletic Association All-Academic Award Program.
Eunice High’s Caroline Mire and Vivian Mire earned Scholar Academic All-State volleyball honors with a 4.0 GPA.
Lady Bobcat team mate Raquel Bernard was named to the Division III Academic All-State list.
In Class 3-A football. four EHS Bobcats earned Academic All-State honors.
Brian Lopez earned a 3.76 GPA, followed by William McLemore (3.71), Austin Deculus (3.61) and Brad Sonnier (3.61).
The LHSAA recognizes the academic excellence of senior student-athletes who have attained a 3.5 grade point average or higher by placing them on the Composite All-Academic Team or Class All-Academic Team.
To earn Composite Team honors, a student-athlete’s six-semester GPA must have an un-weighted 4.00.
The Class Team is composed of student-athletes with six-semester GPA of 3.5 - 3.999.
All senior student-athletes must be registered and submitted by a school principal and must have participated in the sport for at least two years, and achieved a six-semester cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 or better based on a 4.0 scale.
