St. Edmund jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but Sacred Heart rallied for a 4-2 win over the Blue Jays Tuesday in a non-district game.
The Blue Jays got things started in the second inning when Dawson Ardoin walked and scored on a two-out error.
St. Edmund (8-13) moved ahead 2-0 in the bottom of the third as Kaden Fontenot singled and scored on another Trojan miscue.
Sacred Heart (11-5-1) tied the game in the top of the fourth, begun when Garrett Fontenot singled and scored on a sacrifice by Christian Duplechin.
Alex Gotro bunted his way on base and later scored on a hit by Cade Manuel.
The Trojans moved ahead 3-2 in the top of the fifth when D Bordelon walked, stole second and scored on a two-out single by Garrett Fontenot.
Sacred Heart added an insurance run in the top of the seventh when Castille singled and scored on a double by Fontenot.
Cody Shipp earned the complete game win as he allowed two hits and two runs while striking out five.
Brad Miller took the loss for St. Edmund as he went six innings, allowing five hits and three runs with five atrikeouts and three walks.
Payton Marcantel (1-for-4) and Fontenot (1-for-3, RS) accounted for the two Blue Jay hits.
Fontenot went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored to lead the Trojans.
Manuel went 2-for-2 with a walk and a RBI.
St. Edmund opens District 4-1A play at home today against Grand Lake (7-8).
