Washington-Marion returned to Lake Charles with a District 4-4A sweep over Eunice High.
The Lady Indians (11-5, 4-1) went on a 21-3 run to open the game and cruised to a 68-24 win over the Lady Bobcats.
Madison Freeman scored all three points for the Lady Cats in the period, while Ry’n Guillory led Washington-Marion with 10 points and Shantell Guillory chipped in seven points.
The Lady Indians opened the second quarter with an 8-0 run before Madison Allison hit a jumper for the Lady Cats.
Freeman later added two free throws as Eunice trailed 40-7 at intermission.
Guillory continued to dominate for the Lady Indians as she scored 11 points in the second period.
Eunice regrouped to push in 10 points in the third period including a 7-2 run to close the quarter.
Rylea Gradney scored in the lane and Madison Freeman added two free throws to help close the gap to 42-11 before Washington Marion responded with an 8-0 run.
Madison Allison drained a trey and Freeman ended the quarter with free throws as EHS trailed 52-17 heading into the final period.
The Lady Indians closed the game with a 16-6 run.
Madison Freeman hit a jumper and added two free throws, while Raylyn Carrier also hit two free throws in the period for the Lady Cats.
Guillory led Washington-Marion with 26 points.
Freeman led EHS (1-12, 0-8) with 14 points.
The Lady Cats travel to St. Edmund today for the regular season finale.
W-M 69, Eunice 53
Washington-Marion moved one step closer to the district title as the Indians rolled to a 69-53 win over the Bobcats.
The Indians (19-6, 5-0) began with an 8-0 run before Eunice responded with a trey by Terrance Shilow and a Dedric Vigers bucket.
Eunice (12-7, 2-4) finished the period with a 7-4 run sparked by six points from Treylon Cooper to close the gap to 14-12.
Washington-Marion began the second period with a 6-0 surge, but five points from Cooper helped the Bobcats pull closer, 20-17.
Simeon Ardoin hit a free throw and Shaun Hudson added a bucket and Vigers scored off a steal to help the Bobcats close the margin to 28-22.
Eunice continued to battle as Hudson hit two free throws and Shilow added a late bucket as the Bobcats trailed 28-26 at the break.
The Indians exploded for a 24-10 third period run to put the game away.
Hudson and Kevin Thomas scored five points eacch for the Bobcats in the quarter.
The two teams battled to a 17-17 fourth quarter tie as the Indians sealed a 69-53 win.
Ardoin pushed in eight points in the period including two treys.
Cooper and Hudson led Eunice with 13 points each, while Shilow and Ardoin chipped in eight points.
Eunice visits St. Edmund today and closes district play next Friday at home against LaGrange.
