Bobcats celebrate Senior Night

The Eunice High baseball team honored eight seniors Monday prior to the Bobcats’ game against Beau Chene.

Dylan Guillory, Zach Suire, Gage Miller, Jahiem Mitchell, Braden Rider, Trey Soileau, Jullian Hudson and Tyler Arnaud were recognized along with senior statistican Isabella Brown.

The Bobcats. then cruised to a 19-2 win over the Gators.

Beau Chene jumped out for a 1-0 lead, but Eunice responded with six runs in tthe bottom of the first as the Bobcats never looked back.

Hayden Darbonne singled, Mitchell was hit by a pitch and Suire then ripped a triple to left field that cleared the bases.

Suire scored on a passed ball to push the Bobcats ahead, 3-1.

Hudson Manuel was hit by a pitch and scored on an error, while Price Myers singled and scored on a hit by Rider.

Rider later stole home as the Bobcats moved ahead, 6-1.

Eunice added two more runs in the bottom of the second, begun when Suire singled and scored on a hit by Manuel.

Manuel scored on a sacrifice fly by Rider as the Bobcats led, 8-1.

Beau Chene scored a run in the top of the third frame, but the Bobcats exploded for six runs in the bottom of the inning to put the game out of reach.

Dru Phillips and Mitchell both singled and Suire was hit by a pitch to load the bases.

Manuel wss also hit by a pitch to plate Phillips.

Dylan Darbonne followed with a grand slam home run to push the Bobcats’ lead to 13-2.

Rider singled and scored on a double by Evan Fruge.

Eunice sealed the mercy-rule win with a fiverun surge in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Hayden Darbonne, Mitchell and Suire all walked to open the inning.

Manuel singled in Hayden Darbonne and Mitchell as the Bobcats moved ahead, 16-2.

Dylan Darbonne and Dylan Guillory both singled in runs and the final Bobcat run came when Bryan Darbonne singled in Dylan Darbonne.

Mitchell earned the complete game win as he struck out nine, walked two and allowed one earned run on three hits.

Manuel went 2-for-2 with four RBIs and four runs scored.

Dylan Darbonne finished 2-for-3 with five RBIs and two runs scored.

Suire went 2-for-2 qith a walk, two RBIs and three runs scored.

Evan Fruge went 2-for- 3 with one RBI.

Eunice travels to Plaquemine on Saturday before entertaining North Vermilion in a District 4-4A contest on Tuesday.
