Constitutional amendments pass

Voters passed three constitutional amendments in Saturday’s election. Amendment 1 passed with 73% of the 428,485 votes cast in the state. The amendment requires U.S. citizenship to register and vote in Louisiana. The amendment also passed with 69% of the St. Landry Parish 9,032 votes cast Turnout in the state was 14.2%.
