Governor touts state’s progress to press

Gov. John Bel Edwards cited the state’s progress across a broad front in a luncheon speech Tuesday to members of the Louisiana Press Association.

La. Press Association names veteran newsman as its executive director

The Louisiana Press Association has hired veteran newspaperman Will Chapman as its new executive director. It has also promoted Communications Director Mike Rood to general manager.

The Eunice News wins several state press awards

The Eunice News won three first-place awards in the Louisiana Press Association Better Newspaper Competition for 2016. The awards were presented Saturday during the Mississippi Press Association/Louisiana Press Association Joint Convention in Biloxi, Mississippi.
