3K-plus request absentee ballots in St. Landry

More than 3,000 voters had requested absentee ballots in St. Landry as of last Friday and the count was rising, according to Cheryl Miburn, registrar of voters. The 3,000-plus requests compares to a total of about 2,000 four years ago, she said.

Mail-in voting contested

Three blue states — Washington, Oregon and Colorado — conduct all of their elections through mail-in votes, and four red states— Wyoming, Montana, Utah and Alaska — are joining them this year in conducting their presidential primaries entirely through mail ballots.
