Region jeopardized by president’s action

Dear Editor, I am proud of the people in my district. The residents of Vermilion, Acadia, Lafayette, and St. Landry parishes are hard workers, but without industry, our entire region is in jeopardy.

Following up on a previous letter

I feel compelled to offer a small amount of information about “The Party of No” that I left out of my “Remember to vote’ letter in Sunday’s Eunice News. This group has about 20 members who pledge to vote “No” on any bill that raises taxes in the Legislature.

Dear Editor, To: Mr. Goodell, I would like to offer a suggestion to you that you might want to consider with respect to the above issue. I think that you should instruct every team owner to call their players into a team meeting with a television and DVD player hookup.

Support Amendment No. 3

It has been said before, but bears repeating: Louisiana must increase transportation infrastructure investment if critically-important projects, like I-49 South, will ever be completed. The failure to raise transportation revenue during the 2017 legislative session was disappointing.

Leave the Confederate monuments alone

Should rising Medicaid costs concern taxpayers?

Gov. John Bel Edwards is proposing to add more dollars to the DHH budget for Medicaid if lawmakers support tax increases on business. However, the House Appropriations Committee is resistant to that idea because of their concern over the growth in Medicaid; why are they concerned?

Let the fire district vote

Due to the gradual decline of voter turnout during elections, elected officials begin beating their drums about “voting is your right and you should take advantage of this right etc., etc.” I attend most of the St.
