Dashboard developed at UL

University of Louisiana at Lafayette researchers have developed technology that’s assisting city officials in New Orleans understand risks associated with economic recovery, and are expanding the project statewide thanks to a National Science Foundation grant.
NSF awarded UL Lafayette’s Center for Visual and Decision Informatics a one-year, $187,477 grant for the “RAPID: Visual Analytics Approach to Real-Time Tracking of COVID-19” project. With the grant, CVDI researchers will enhance its COVID-19 Resilient Economy Support Tool, or CREST.

Cajun Compass provides networking, mentorship platform

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has developed an online platform for career development and networking among students, alumni, faculty members and supporters.
The UL Lafayette Alumni Association’s Cajun Compass enables people who sign up for the free service to connect with mentors, or to mentor someone else. The platform gives users the ability to seek – and find – others with similar majors, careers goals and interests.

UL Lafayette fall semester calendar changes show COVID-19 impact

LAFAEYTTE — The University of Louisiana at Lafayette will begin its Fall 2020 semester on Aug. 17.
The earlier start date is one of several changes the University has made to its academic calendar as it prepares for the safe resumption of on-campus instruction and housing and residential life in the fall.
The last day of classes is Nov. 20.
Final exams will conclude on Nov. 25.
Fall break, originally scheduled for Oct. 1-2, has been canceled.
Fall 2020 Commencement will be Dec. 8.

UL Lafayette students named on Fall 2018 President’s, Dean’s lists

LAFAYETTE — At the end of each regular semester, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette recognizes those students named to the President’s List and Dean’s List. Eligible students must be enrolled full time.
To be included on the Dean’s List, students must earn at 3.5 GPA or better and to be included on the President’s List, students must earn a 3.8 GPA or better.
