School districts brace for special session impact By Jeannine LeJeune Crowley Post-Signal CROWLEY – Ahead of the state’s third special session in two years, many discussions and rumors over cuts and funding have been dropped, including a potential cut to K-12 public education.

With no meeting set for January, there was actually one item that needed to be taken care of before hitting February: The election of officers. Doug LaCombe, who had served for four years as president as the board’s president, offered up his thanks for an opportunity to serve.

In a much more laid back meeting, the Acadia Parish School Board’s Personnel, Insurance and Curriculum Committee heard reports regarding student transportation, school and district scores and Child Nutrition on Nov. 28.
