Narcotics criminal patrol nets modified gun, drugs and cash

James Price, III, 32, of the 100 block of Fruge Street, in Eunice was arrested and charged with no seatbelt, possession of Schedule IV, distribution of marijuana, transactions involving drug offenses, and possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS.
Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz reported, “While conducting criminal patrol in the Eunice area, Narcotics Detectives came upon a white Mustang on the 800 block of Beulah Street.
“A traffic stop for a violation was done and the driver, James Price III stepped out of the vehicle with a pistol protruding from his waist. The firearm, a Glock Model 20, 10mm, had a modified trigger, known as an FRT (forced-reset trigger). This modification allows the user to fire the gun as fast as a fully-automatic pistol. A probable cause search was made and the following items seized: 12 oz. of suspected promethazine, 1 – Glock Model 20 10mm pistol with FRT, and $ 7,895.00 in U.S. currency.”
Sheriff Guidroz concluded, “The investigation corroborated a statement by Price that he sold marijuana. A search warrant for Price’s cell phone will be obtained, as this investigation is ongoing with additional charges possible. Drugs and guns make a potentially deadly mixture, putting countless lives at risk. We are dedicated to the elimination of this threat and the arrest of those committed to violating the laws of our great state.”
