Adults can learn strategies to get more restorative and lengthy sleep.
One of my strategies when I have trouble falling asleep is running my sleep machine. The battery operated machine offers and plays different soothing sounds, one of my favorite sound is a sound of oceans waves.

The effects of caffeine on the body

Every morning I have to drink my cup of hot coffee to get me going and wake me up for the day. However, I have discovered that I cannot partake in any kind of caffeine after 3 p.m. because the consumption will affect my sleep pattern.

Daylight saving time throws off internal clock

This spring forward daylight saving time is definitely throwing me off. It’s good for longer daylight hours, but also seems to make a long day. I’m more tired when trying to retire for bedtime, and I feel tired it seems when I wake in the early morning.
However, some people enjoy having longer daylight hours because it gives a family more time to spend outdoors after work.

Don’t mistake a shamrock for a clover

St. Patrick’s Day celebration is Sunday. Did you know? All shamrocks are clovers, but not all clovers are shamrocks. The home and garden resource The Spruce indicates that the term “shamrock” comes from the Gaelic word seamrog, meaning “little clover.” There is no consensus as to which species of clover is the true shamrock.

Drive smart in foggy weather

Driving in fog can be tricky and unsafe. Always exercise caution when fog rolls in.
Foggy conditions require drivers to use even more caution and attention to the roads.
During the past few weeks I drove to work in the early morning fog. My suggestion to others when driving in these conditions, slow down, use low beam headlights, and drive in the right lane.
