Eunice man shot in leg; another man arrested

A 29-year-old Eunice man has been charged with aggravated second-degree battery in the shooting of another man on Childs Street.
Officer Jessica Tezeno, public information officer, said police were called to 256 Acadia St. about a male being shot at 3:23 p.m. Tuesday.
The officer found the victim with a gun shot wound to the lower left leg. The man was taken to Acadian Medical Center.
Investigators determined that the shooting took place on Childs Street.
Arrested in the incident was Brandon Watley, 29, 500 block of West Walnut Avenue, Eunice.
As police investigated the shooting, an officer was flagged down and told there were bullets in a residence in the 100 block of Childs Street.
Police later determined there were two bullets in a vehicle and one in shed at the Childs Street residence.
Police said they believe the shooter was on foot.
The suspect and the victim know each other, Police said.
The suspect surrendered to police at his residence.
