July 9
Anthony Bellard, 31, 700 block of Tate Street, Eunice. Reckless operation of a vheicle.
Eddie Lee McClain, 29, 800 block of South Beulah Street, Eunice. Domestic abuse child endangerment and domestic abuse strangulation.

Smell, knock and bust

Eunice Police discovered making a pot bust was easy as following their noses and knocking on the door on Wednesday.
Police received a call about the odor of marijuana at the Days Inn in Eunice at about 2:30 p.m.
Lt. Ryan Young said there was an odor of raw and burning marijuana in the lobby and throughout the hotel.
Police followed their noses to a second-floor room, knocked on the door and eventually Michael Thomas, of Eunice, opened the door “and immediately handed the officer 48 individually wrapped bags of marijuana.”

A wreck involving three vehicles occurred at 9:46 a.m. Thursday at U.S. 190 and Martin Luther King Drive in Eunice. Eunice Police Officer Dane Wilson said a pickup truck driven by Marlon Guidry, of Eunice, ran a red light while southbound on Martin Luther King. The SUV, shown above, was being driven west by Elizabeth Johnson, of Opelousas, and was hit and ended up colliding with a semi-trailer truck driven by John Beal of Oklahoma. Guidry was cited for a red light violation. Guidry and a passenger in his pickup, and Johnson were taken to Acadian Medical Center for treatment.

Valerie Anne Tweedel, 62, 100 block of Acadia Street, Eunice. Theft less than $1,000.
Bobby Joe Reed, 23, 7000 block of Grand Marais Road, Roanoke. Bench warrant.
Mary E. Andrus, 48, 100 block of Acadia Street, Eunice. Theft less than $1,000.
