Suspect to shooting at Brownie’s arrested

A suspect to a shooting at South 2nd Street and West Maple in Eunice on April 29 was apprehended in Calcasieu Parish today with the assistance of U.S. Marshal deputies. Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said Brian K. Thomas, of Ville Platte, was found through a tip to Crime Stoppers of St. Landry.

Man shot multiple times in drug deal gone sour

A man was shot three to five times in the chest in a drug deal gone bad at South 2nd Street and West Maple on Thursday, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said. The shooting occurred in a pickup truck on the side of Brownie’s, a popular convenience store on West Maple after 1 p.m.

Eunice Police are attempting to locate Jasten Thomas, of the 200 block of North7th Street, Eunice, in connection with a shooting that occurred about 6:45 pm. Sunday in the 300 block of North 7th Street. In a news release, Police Chief Randy Fontenot identified Thomas a 19-year-old black male.
