Police: Eunice man runs stop sign, leads high-speed chase that ends in jail

A Eunice man who ran a stop sign at Nimitz and U.S. 190 at about 11 a.m. Wednesday was pursued at speeds over 100 mph, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot.
Larry Joseph Mason, 30, of the 100 block of North Beulah Street, was driving a gray Kia and wasn’t on the police radar on Wednesday until the vehicle was spotted running the stop sign, Fontenot said.
The Kia darted across Laurel “and didn’t slow down,” Fontenot said.
The Kia also almost hit a police car, he added.
