Police say man robbed his cousin

Eunice Police have arrested a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred May 20 after a traffic stop.
Kevin Lee “Baby Kev” Thomas, of the 800 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Eunice, was arrested for armed robbery on July 12.
At 11:26 a.m. May 20 Eunice Police were dispatched to the intersection of Minerva Street and Halsey Street in reference to a man who was robbed at gunpoint.
The victim told police he was at the intersection of Nimitz and Minerva streets when he noticed two black male subjects walking close behind him. He looked over his shoulder and noticed each of the male subjects pulling out a pistol, one of the suspects pushed the pistol into the right side near his rib cage.
The victim was able to identify this subject as Kevin Lee Thomas “Baby Kev”, whom he identified as his cousin, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said in a news release.
The victim said the other male subject put his pistol to the back of his neck and began grabbing his backpack. The victim said he could not identify the other male subject but was able to give a description of a tall, light-complexed black male wearing a black jacket and black shorts.
After Thomas and the other subject robbed him, he watched them run west on Minerva Street to the intersection of South Mallet Street where they ran south into a wooded area before he lost sight of them.
