Eunice Police discovered making a pot bust was easy as following their noses and knocking on the door on Wednesday.
Police received a call about the odor of marijuana at the Days Inn in Eunice at about 2:30 p.m.
Lt. Ryan Young said there was an odor of raw and burning marijuana in the lobby and throughout the hotel.
Police followed their noses to a second-floor room, knocked on the door and eventually Michael Thomas, of Eunice, opened the door “and immediately handed the officer 48 individually wrapped bags of marijuana.”
There was smoke and the odor of burning marijuana coming from the room, he said.
Police seized about a pound of a marijuana. Besides the bags weighing about gram each, there were 13 bags weighing about 28 grams each.
Thomas, 33, of the 400 block of South Beulah, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession with intent to distribute Schedule I controlled dangerous substance (28 grams or less).
