Eunice Police identify shooting suspect

Eunice Police are attempting to locate Jasten Thomas, of the 200 block of North7th Street, Eunice, in connection with a shooting that occurred about 6:45 pm. Sunday in the 300 block of North 7th Street.
In a news release, Police Chief Randy Fontenot identified Thomas a 19-year-old black male.
Thomas is wanted for four counts of attempted second-degree murder.
Officers responded to the 300 block of North Seventh Street for a complaint of shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers discovered blood , gasoline and shell casings in the street.
In the course of the investigation, officers determined that Jasten Thomas, along with another yet unidentified suspect, fired multiple shots towards a vehicle that the victim was standing next to, Fontenot stated. The vehicle was occupied by three others. The victim, Jeno Holcomb Jr., 19 of the 100 block of Chataignier Street, Eunice, was shot three times and the vehicle was hit at least one time, rupturing the fuel tank, he stated.
