Acadia Parish crash claims 2 lives

A two-vehicle crash resulted in two men suffering fatal injuries on La. 3070 (McCain Road) at La. 98 in Acadia Parish shortly before 7:30 a.m. Thursday, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I.
Police identified the victms as 40-year-old Carlos Lazo of Duson and 28-year-old Luis Estrada of Scott.

Church Point motorcyclist killed in Acadia Parish crash

A three-vehicle crash on La. 95 at La. 365 in Acadia Parish shortly before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday took the life of 24-year-old Weston R. Nelams of Church Point.
According to a Louisiana State Police Troop I news release, the crash occurred as 41-year-old Frankie Guillory of Opelousas was driving a 2014 GMC pickup truck northbound on La. 95 behind a 2013 Ford Fusion driven by 19-year-old Tyler Bergeron of Church Point.
At the same time Nelams was operating a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on La. 95.

State Police: Driver runs from crash that killed 2 teens

A two-vehicle fatal crash on U.S. 167 south of La. 697 in Vermilion Parish took the lives of Alana Duhon, 16, of Abbeville and Sydney Colomb, 15, of Maurice, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I.
The wreck occurred about 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
State Police state the crash occurred as 20-year-old Tyler J. Meaux of Kaplan was traveling south in the northbound lanes of U.S. 167 in a 2013 Ford F-150. At the same time, Duhon was traveling north in the left hand lane of U.S.167 in a 2012 Honda Civic.
Police said the F-150 struck the Civic head-on.

23-year-old man dies in fiery crash into historic building in Arnaudville

Dominick S. Roy, 23, of Breaux Bridge, died in a fiery single-vehicle wreck on La. 93 near Grain Elevator Road in st. Martin Parish, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I.
The wreck destroyed the historic La Pataterie (sweet potato drying kiln), which housed art from NUNU Arts and Culture Collective.

Unrestrained teen killed in St. Landry Parish crash

A two-vehicle wreck on La. 356 at Jessie Richard Road in St. Landry Parish killed Jaydlon Mouton, 17, of Carencro, at about 10:15 p.m. Thursday.
A Louisiana State Police Troop I news release stated 17 year old Christian Maddie of Opelousas was operating a 2003 Ford F-150 southbound on Jessie Richard Road and failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection with La. 356. At the same time, 17-year-old Jaylen Montreal of Carencro was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier eastbound on La. 356, police stated.
