Dominick S. Roy, 23, of Breaux Bridge, died in a fiery single-vehicle wreck on La. 93 near Grain Elevator Road in st. Martin Parish, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I.
The wreck destroyed the historic La Pataterie (sweet potato drying kiln), which housed art from NUNU Arts and Culture Collective.

After leaving the road the Surburban struck an unoccupied structure. Both the Suburban and the structure became engulfed in flames.
Roy suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. Due to vehicle damage it is unknown if he was properly restrained at the time of the crash.
Impairment is unknown at this time, but a toxicology sample was taken from Roy to be submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis, police stated
