Lady Jays ready for successful season

By Tom Dodge Sports Editor After finishing as district runners-up last year, the Lady Jays are looking to grab the District 6-1A title this season. Led by senior Harlie Guillory and a strong group of juniors, St. Edmund head coach Erica Zaunbrecher said she expects a good performance from her team.

Tigers down Bobcats in playoff stunner

By Tom Dodge Sports Editor No. 19 Breaux Bridge scored in every quarter as the Tigers earned a 35-19 upset win over the No. 14 Eunice Bobcats. Breaux Bridge opened the game with a time-consuming drive that took 16 plays including two fourth down conversions.

Crusaders stun Blue Jays, 7-6

By Tom Dodge Sports Editor The No. 19 Crusaders won the rematch against the No. 14 Blue Jays as Westminster Christian Academy grabbed a 7-6 win over St. Edmund. With wet field conditions and a drizzling rain all game, the game was a defensive battle for most of the contest.
