Greek Day celebrated at Glendale Elementary

Laura Francois’ fourth-grade students at Glendale Elementary recently learned about Greek Mythology. As a treat students were allowed to dress as their favorite Greek character. There was also Greek food prepared and several craft items made to celebrate what the students had learned.

Forest Huval at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by the Forest Huval band. Admission is $5. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Starting at 10 a.m.

Dream Teachers of Louisiana at Central Middle School

Lauren Schoeffler, a fifth-grade math teacher at Central Middle School, is one of 24 semi-finalist for middle school Louisiana Teacher of the Year, and holds the title of St. Landry Parish Middle School Teacher of the Year, was surprised Wednesday morning by a special visitor.

International Day at St. Edmund Elementary

St. Edmund Elementary’s sixth-graders completed their project for International Day. A social studies unit on different countries were presented and assigned to students for a project and grade.

AMBA representative pays visit to Highland

To help celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, the organization AMBA (Association Member Benefits Advisors), finished funding teacher’s Donors Choose projects across the state of Louisiana. Amy Myers services most of the students at Highland Elementary on a daily basis.
