May luncheon at Goodhope

Goodhope Place Apartment tenants were treated to an after Memorial Day luncheon on Tuesday. Lunch consisted of spaghetti, garlic bread, green salad and drinks.

Broussard at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by August Broussard & Friends. Admission is $5. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Starting at 10 a.m.

St. Edmund High School holds Senior Awards ceremony

St. Edmund Catholic High School held its Seniors Awards ceremony Thursday, May 16. The program honors and recognizes seniors in all areas of high school including leadership, service, academics, sports, clubs, civic and college scholarships and special awards.

Former East students recognized for LEAP

These current Central Middle School students were recognized by their former principal, Gina LaGrange at East Elementary, for excelling on previous LEAP exams while attending East Elementary. These students were rewarded T-shirts, gift cards and Sonic certificates.

St. Edmund students stretching an AR paper chain

This year in St. Edmund’s library every time a first through sixth grade student scored a 100 percent on an AR test they wrote their name on a ‘chain link’. On May 17, students stretched out the chain they created during the 2018-2019 school year.

Pedestal Bank awards $10,000 scholarship

EUNICE–Pedestal Bank recently announced the winner of the bank’s $10,000 “Be Inspired” Scholarship. Logan Landry, a senior at St. Edmund High School in Eunice, is the recipient of a $10,000 scholarship funded by Pedestal Bank. She was one of 90 applicants considered for the scholarship.

America’s Farmers Grow donation at St. Edmund

Raymond and Tammy Fruge were awarded “America’s Farmers Grow Communities” donation from the Bayer Fund, and has selected St. Edmund Catholic School to receive this donation through Grow Communities to use towards the school’s Elementary Renovation Project.

NAUW donates books at Glendale Elementary
