Succulents should be repotted every 12 to 18 months to keep the soil healthy. Often when a succulent has been in the same soil for a long time, nutrients in the soil have become depleted. Repotting puts the plant in fresh new soil that is nutrient full and healthy. It also provides an opportunity to examine its roots for damage, disease, or insects.
