Volunteers are needed to assist a group of about 100 people who are to arrive Saturday to do repairs to flood-damaged residences in St. Landry, Acadia and Evangeline parishes.
Susan Fisher, of the St. Landry-Evangeline United Way, said Team ACTS is a non-denominational Christian group that will stay at the Acadian Baptist Center from Feb. 18 to 25.
Volunteers are needed to help feed the group, she said.
Donations of food and money also are requested.
Contact Fisher at 337-942-7815 to volunteer or make a donation.
There are 30 residences that were damaged by the August flooding that have been identified for the group’s assistance, she said.
Fisher asked that anyone who has repair needs from the August flooding contact her.
About 3,000 volunteers from Eight Days of Hope are scheduled to arrive in Lafayette in May to do repair work, she said.
