State’s jobless rate soars to 14.5% in April

Preliminary data released Friday by the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) shows that Louisiana’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased to 14.5 percent for April 2020.

Tri-Parish workforce down 712 workers

The Tri-Parish workforce shed 712 people in the workforce in July compared to July 2018, according to not seasonally adjusted numbers from the Bureau of Labor and Statistics released Friday.

December jobless rate dips from 5% to 4.9%

Data released Friday by the Bureau of Labor and Statistics shows that seasonally adjusted nonfarm employment increased by 21,900 jobs from December 2017 to 1,992,200.
