4 of 14 Eunice city candidates file campaign disclosure reports

Four of the 14 candidates in the November elected have filed candidate reports with the Louisiana Board of Ethics.
Incumbent Mayor Scott Fontenot and Police Chief Randy Fontenot have filed reports along with Tony Baltakis and Jackie Vallare, both candidates for the Board of Aldermen.
Candidates making expenditures in excess of $2,500 must file a report. Candidates who receive contributions from a single source, other than personal funds, in excess of $200 must file a report.
Candidates are to make reports 30 and 10 days before the election. The reports are available online at ethics.la.gov/CampaignFinanceSearch/SearchScanned.aspx.
The reports show that Randy Fontenot is the top fundraiser in the city election. Fontenot’s campaign reported contributions of $12,500 as of the 30-day report. Another $500 in contributions were stated in the 10-day report.
In Scott Fontenot’s 30-day report, contributions are listed at $1,700 and disbursements of $1,084.10. His 10-day report had not been scanned for viewing on the Ethics Board site as of Tuesday.
Baltakis listed his campaign as self-funded in report dated Oct. 9. He donated $900 to his campaign for Ward 1 alderman and expenditures of $423.67.
Vallare, a candidate for Ward 2 alderman, filed report ending Sept. 20. Contributions were listed at $2,440 and disbursements of $2,084.18.
