Hurricane Delta is moving ashore in Cameron and Vermilion Parishes this evening. Hurricane force winds are seen in those regions, as well as parts of southeast Texas and Calcasieu and Jeff Davis Parishes.

Tides are now falling in Sabine Pass, so the storm surge warning is ending there. However tides could rise another couple feet in lower Cameron Parish, and still rise even more in Vermilion, Iberia, and St. Mary Parishes this evening. Tides are now running 5 to 8 feet above normal in these areas.

Rain totals have increased to 4 to 9 inches in southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana, and flash flood warnings continue in those areas. New flash flood warnings have been issued further inland, north of the US 190 corridor in Louisiana due to the expected heavy rains this evening.
