Bishop’s Christmas message

Bishop J. Douglas Deshotel’s Christmas message to the people of Acadiana. Here’s the transcription:
“Hello! This beautiful time of the year gives us the opportunity to reflect on the great miracle that occurred 2,000 years ago, the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It’s a time when we gather together with friends and family to show our love for one another by exchanging gifts and celebrating meals with each other, all to mark the great love that was shown to us, that God loved us enough to enter into our world to become one of us, to share in our lives, so that we might share in His life. Because of this miracle, God understands us in an intimate and personal way. He was like us, He invites us to be like Him, to share in His life. On behalf of the entire Diocese of Lafayette, I wish all of you a very holy, happy and blessed Christmas season.”
