Heather Cloud has announced her candidacy for District 28 state senator. The district encompasses Avoyelles, Evangeline, Allen, and portions of St. Landry and Acadia parishes.
The election is scheduled Oct. 12.
Cloud’s announcement includes the following.
Cloud is a degreed school teacher. She and her husband own Jody Cloud Trucking and Miss Sue’s Cafe’.
“For over 16 years, I have successfully operated multiple million-dollar budgets in both private and governmental business,” she stated.
“My husband Jody and I have been married for over 18 years, and we have two sons, Logan age 16 and Ethan age 12,” she stated.
Cloud stated she served eight years as mayor of Turkey Creek.
