DOTD bids awarded for St. Landry projects

BATON ROUGE – St. Landry Parish projects are among 13 the state: Department of Transportation and Development awarded bids to on Sept. 23.
DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D., said, “A notable project is the rehabilitation of U.S. 190 between Opelousas and Port Barre, a heavily traveled corridor that has been in need of attention for some time now.”
St. Landry Parish paving and drainage projects are:
U.S. 190 between Wallior Street and La. 742 in St. Landry Parish: $9,810,340.16.
La. 182 between Church Street and U.S. 167 in St. Landry Parish: $3,456,161.85.
Construction projects are prioritized by road/bridge condition, urgency of improvements, type/volume of traffic, crash records, unforeseeable emergencies that caused damage, and several other factors.
