Early voting begins Saturday for Eunice tax

Early voting begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Eunice City Hall for the May 4 Eunice sales tax election.
Eunice voters are asked to decide on a 0.25 percent sales tax to raise police and firefighter pay.
If passed, the tax is to begin July 1 and run in perpetuity to fund public safety salaries and related compensation, according to ballot proposition.
The poll will remain open until 6 p.m.
The poll will close Sunday and reopen from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Early voting is also occurring with the same hours at the Opelousas office of the registrar of voters, 18 S. Court St. Room 114, Opelousas.
Early voting for Eunice voters in Acadia Parish also is being held 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Monday through Friday at the Acadia Parish registrar of voter’s office, 568 Northwest Court Circle, Crowley.
On May 4, poll hours are from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
