Early voting will be held at the Eunice Municipal Complex for the Oct. 14 election.
This will be the first time early voting has occurred outside of the parish courthouse, according to St. Landry Parish Clerk of Court Charles Jagneaux.
The St. Landry Parish Council approved the voting site at its meeting Wednesday in Opelousas.
Jagneaux said election officials have been working about three months on locating early voting in Eunice.
Early voting for the Oct. 14 election will be Sept. 30, through Oct. 7.
Cheryl Milburn, parish registrar of voters, said 50 to 60 percent of the early voters in the past are from Eunice.
The site also was approved by Tom Schedler, secretary of state.
