Chamber of Commerce to hold first annual Clay Shoot next week. The Eunice Chamber of Commerce has announced that their first annual Sporting Clay Shoot will be held Saturday, Aug. 18 at the Cajun Elite Shooting Club in Evangeline.

Frey red-shirted for upcoming baseball season. Pitcher Stefan Frey, the District 4-4A MVP, will be joining the LSUE Bengals, but will be red-shirted for medical reasons for the upcoming year, due to a shoulder injury.
St. Ed athletes have up-lifting experience. Alex Rozas was St. Edmund’s top lifter in its recent Power Lift, bench pressing a maximum of 315 pounds.
Anniversary. Walmart Supercenter reaches one year. Robert Gaspard looked on with some pride Tuesday as 12 new associates joined his Walmart team.
Eunice teachers in the news. Two Eunice teachers made the news at the August St. Landry Parish School Board meeting. Casey Fontenot, left, of Eunice Jr. High received her award as the parish’s middle school teacher of the year. Candace Fontenot, right, a teacher at Highland Elementary, was appointed assistant principal of Northwest High.
