Rehearsal were underway this week for Eunice Players’ Theatre’s “If The Shoe Fits.” The play will open with a matinee at 2 p.m. on October 7. Rehearsing lines are Randy Benoit and Annette Olivier.
Iota dominates Blue Jay Field Friday. LeJeune’s Bulldogs plow over St. Edmund to win 33-14 in Jay’s home opener. Blue Jay running back Quinn Arnaud (33) attempts to carry the ball past Iota’s defense. Bulldog defensive lineman Justin Desselle (27) closes in for the tackle, while St. Edmund full back Chase Guillory (8) attempts to come in to Arnaud’s defense.
Bobcats rally in second half for 26-24 win. Collins, Comeaux lead impressive running attack to support outstanding defensive effort. Eunice High free safety Troy Godfrey (29) tackles Catholic High receiver Donald Lewis (88).
Character Counts Hero. Chad Guarraggi, a second-grade student at Glendale Elementary, was chosen as Character Counts Hero. He exemplifies great character with his teacher and peers and displays good behavior. His teacher is Mrs. Lombas.
2007-2008 Eunice Jr. High School Cheerleaders named. The Eunice Jr. High School cheerleaders were named for the school year. The squad includes Emily Ogea, MacKenzie Biessenberger, Amber Meaux, Kelly Brinkman, Aungelle Fontenot, captain; Shelbie Lee, and Lisa Hooker. Hearing screenings conducted at East Elementary. East Elementary School recently conducted hearing screenings for all pre-k through third grade students.
