Students of the Month. East Elementary has named its Students of the Month for September. These students were presented with a pencile, tag to wear and a poster for their classroom door. McDonalds and Adopt-A-School Super 1 Foods also awarded the students of the months. From left are Jyhreh Johnson, Hayden West, Hunter Daigle, Alexia Jason and Katlyn Joubert. Young Christians. St. Edmund Catholic School announced its Young Christians of the Month. Those honored this month, are, front, Seth Venable, Gage Guillory, Lucy Brown, Rheagan Ortego, Mary Catherine Bergeron, and Anne Mechelle Vezinat. Pink Lady of the Month. The Pink Ladies monthly meeting was held on Oct. 6 in the hospital’s cafeteria. Winnie Lanclos was selected as Pink Lady of the Month.
Bobcats look to rebound against Broncos. Point Producers, The Eunice High Bobcats had trouble scoring points in last Friday’s 14-7 loss to DeRidder. The senior leadership for the offense will be key in tomorrow night’s district matchup with the Sam Houston Cowboys. Pictured above are senior members of the defense. Students invited to attend World Leadership Forum. Eight students from Central Middle School have been invited to attend the People to People World Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C., in the spring of 2005. Top Sellers. Eunice Jr. High School has announced its top fundraiser sellers. The school held its fall fundraiser and awarded a large basket of prizes to its top Girl and Boy seller. From left are Jacob Courville, seventh grader; and Courtney Thomas, eighth grader; along with top homeroom sales was awarded to Mrs. Veronica Lyons.
Gritty Blue Jays beat Bearcats by a foot, 3-0. Blue Jay running back Jeremy Ward hits the hole for good yardage against Basile.
Bobcats take fight to Rebels, claim 21-9 win. Jeff Neville, 22, scored a touchdown against the Rebels.
Benefit program for “Mr. J.” inspired. Dozens of people attended the Mr. Jerry Benefit at First Baptist Church Sunday afternoon. Local, parish, and state dignitaries, such as Rep. Mickey Guillory, Mayor Lynn LeJeune, Councilman Charles Atchison and Tax Assessor Rhyn Duplechain attended. A benefit concert honoring Jerry Hoffpauir was held at First Baptist Church in Eunice on Sunday, Oct. 3. The event was held to help defray his medical expenses.
Fall Book Fair. East Elementary held its Fall Book Fair in the school’s library last week. The fair was a huge success thanks to the students and parents’ participation and support. From left are Justin Guillory, Taylor Hanks, Nichole Fields, Sadie West, and Aliyah Frank. The third graders are students in Mrs. McGee’ class.
Blue Jays hope to reel in victory against seventh ranked Tarpons. Blue Jay defenders-There is no doubt that the strength of the St. Edmund Blue Jay football team this season has been their defense. The Blue Jays haven’t allowed a point scored against them in district 5-A so far this season.
