Man faces 4 charges in domestic attack

A 28-year-old Eunice man faces four charges including home invasion in connection with an early morning attack Wednesday on Corn Avenue.
Police Chief Randy Fontenot said Bradley Espree, of the 1100 block of Tyrone Road, is charged with home invasion, cruelty to juveniles, aggravated battery and simple criminal damage to property.
Police were called to the incident at 1:50 a.m.
When an officer arrived the 30-year-old female victim had visible injuries, he said.
Espree is identified as a former boyfriend of the victim.
The victim’s bedroom window was broken and the front door was forced open, Fontenot said.
In addition, a vehicle was damaged, he said.
“After gaining entry he charged the victim,” he said.
A male was in the house along with the victim’s three children, he said.
A bedroom door as ripped off its hinges, he said.
“They fought throughout the house,” he said.
“The victim’s neighbors came to the rescue and they cleared everybody out of the house,’ Fontenot said.
After the scene got quiet Espree returned and “went directly into the room where the victim and her three sons were and began hitting her in front of her children,” he said.
One of the sons intervened and was slapped in the face, he said.
Epress left the room,but returned and started hitting the victim again, he said.
The victim had facial bruises, swollen upper lip, bruises on both knees, a cut on a knee, large bruises on her arm and lumps on the front and back of her head, Fontenot said.
