Parade still on to honor city’s high school seniors

A first-time parade to honor the city’s high school seniors remains scheduled at 6 p.m. Friday from City Hall to Circle Park and back.
Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot said the event remains scheduled.
The seniors are to wear caps and gowns and march six-feet apart for social distancing.
Tara Fruge LeBlanc’, president of Eunice High Alumni, and a local business owner, approached Mayor Scott Fontenot about a possible graduation parade. LeBlanc added, “This is going to be a historic event for everybody.”
Meanwhile, Eunice High School’s graduation ceremony has been scheduled fro 7 p.m. June 19 at the school’s footbll stadium, according to Principal Mitch Fontenot.
The event will be set up to allow social distancing, he said.
