An 18-year-old woman accepted a ride to Eunice at about 6 p.m. Saturday in Chataignier and by 8 a.m. Sunday was reporting she had been sexually battered by a man and woman, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
Charged Sunday were:
— Sparkle Cole Lee Ethel Williams, 30, 800 block of South Beulah, Eunice; misdemeanor sexual battery.
— Bruce Lee Williams, 35, 800 block of South Beulah, Eunice; felony sexual battery.
The victim said she got into a vehicle with the driver, who Fontenot declined to identify, Bruce Williams and a 30-year-old male from Ville Platte who also was not identified.
The driver is 31 years old and from Eunice, he said.
The victim said the driver left her with the couple at a residence in Eunice where they drank and listened to music.
While she in the living room it the early morning hours, Bruce Williams “grabbed her and pulled her into his bedroom. Shut and locked the door. While she was sitting on the bed in the bedroom Bruce began to grab her on the legs and touching her and trying to pull off her clothes,” he said.
The victim said there was pornography playing on a laptop at the same time, Fontenot said.
“He did all kinds of thing to her,” Fontenot said.
But a rape did not occur.
The couple said the encounter was consensual.
“Sparkle Williams also began touching and grabbing the victim. And attempted to take her clothes off,” Fontenot said.
“Sparkle eventually got up and unlocked the door for some reason,” he said.
There was a struggle and the victim left the bedroom, he said.
“The victim claimed she did not know where she was and because she was not from Eunice and she didn’t have a phone to call for help,” Fontenot said.
The driver comes back and found Bruce naked, he said.
“She doesn’t know why the driver left her there to begin with,” Fontenot said.
“The driver got into a little tussle with Bruce,” he said.
“Sparkle stated that she and Bruce are swingers and earlier in the evening a female friend went to the residence to have sex with them and left,” he said.
The male witness stayed in the living room and slept most of the night, Fontenot said.
The victim left with the driver and arrived at the police station to file a complaint, he said.
