Nikki Link will continue as president of the board of directors of the Rayne Chamber of Commerce when officers and new board members are sworn in during the fifth annual Business Appreciation Banquet Thursday night.
Chamber members and guests will gather at the Rayne Civic Center for the 2018 event, during which a number of awards — including Business Person of the Year, Employee of the Year, Humanitarian of the Year and Chamber Board Member of the Year — will be presented.
Also during the night, reports will be heard on the many activities hosted and sponsored by the Chamber during the past year, along with an outlook for the coming year.
Link has been a member of the Chamber since 2003 and has previously served six years as a director and treasurer.
Her college studies included secondary education and choreographic design. She then pursued her dream of becoming a business owner in 2002 when she opened the doors to Project Dance (formerly Dance Academy of Rayne).
As president, Link said her goals include “providing training for our members and their employees.”
As she continues to work closely with the other board of directors as well as executive director to ensure that Chamber members are getting the full benefits of being a part of this organization, Link added, “Also look forward to continuing sponsorship of activities for our businesses and community.”
In addition to Link, who was reelected to her third term as board president, other officers to be installed during the event will include Suzette Leonards, vice president; Brian Mouton, secretary; Tiffany Thibodeaux, treasurer; and Michelle Autin, member-at-large.
Other Chamber board members continuing their service as directors are Beverly Rayon, Maggie Reed, Ricky Bonin and Cynthia Oliver.
The Business Appreciation Banquet will be co-sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Rayne.
Doors at the Civic Center will open at 6 p.m. A cash bar will be provided.
The program is slated to begin at 7 p.m. with Sen. Jonathan Perry as master of ceremonies for the evening.
The meal will be served during the program.
