The annual Spirit of Christmas Food Drive sponsored by Super 1 Foods is here. Each year, it is the Eunice Rotary Club’s goal to deliver baking hens and boxes of food to 100 needy families in the Eunice area.
Due to the overwhelming support of local schools, the club has been able to exceed that number each year.
Dates for the Food Drive include: Dec. 2 to 16, schools to collect canned goods from students; Dec. 17, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the Rotarians will pick up canned goods from the schools; Rotarians to box canned goods at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 19; and food will be picked up at Super 1 Foods on Dec. 17.
Rotarians will deliver food to needy families at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 21.
The schools will have a pizza party for the winning class that collected the most canned goods on Dec. 17, 18 and 19.
The Eunice Rotary Club is also looking for each school to provide a list of needy families.
