Shots hit Eunice Police officer’s house

Body

Multiple gunshots struck a Eunice Police officer’s house in the 600 block of Halsey at about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
The officer, who Fontenot declined to identify, was not on duty at the time of the shooting and there were no injuries, he said.
‘We don’t have many details at this time,” Fontenot said Wednesday morning.
“We do have a video of a vehicle of interest,” he said.
Police do think the house was targeted because the resident is a police officer, he said.
“We are going to be looking at recent arrests,” he said. But Fontenot said it not known if the shooting incident is related to any recent arrests.
The officer’s house has never been targeted before, he said.
“At this stage of the investigation it is not clear how many shots were fired,” Fontenot said.
