His announcement includes the following.
I was born and raised in Mamou and a graduate of Mamou High School in 1959. I attended Tulane University in New Orleans and moved back to Mamou in 1963 and opened a photography Studio. In 1969, my wife of 58 years, the former Maxie Fontenot ,and I and our three children, Tim, Holly and Libby moved to Eunice and also moved our photography studio to Eunice which we ran for many years. I began writing a newspaper column during that time and worked part time at the Eunice News under then owner Matt Vernon.
I later sold my photography business and worked at Coastal Culvert for several years in sales. After leaving Coastal Culvert, I became promotions manager for several restaurants in the area. My wife, Maxie owned and operated a beauty salon on 4th St. in Eunice for several years. We now own and operate an ATM business based here in Eunice for over 15 years, servicing and processing ATM locations throughout Louisiana and East Texas.
My son, Tim, graduated from St. Edmunds and is currently employed by Fieldwood Energy in Lafayette, Holly, my daughter, resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is married to Dr. Kevin Thibodeaux, and my daughter, Libby, resides in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, is married to Corky Yates.
