Special needs disaster information session planned here

A program to educate people on how to help those with special needs in disaster is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Northwest Community Center, 501 Samuel Drive, Eunice.
St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said onsite medical information will be provided with local emergency agencies fingerprinting, taking photographs, and distributing paperwork. The information will be entered into the St. Landry Parish law enforcement database in case of an emergency, and the information will provide local law enforcement agencies who may come into contact with a special needs person vital information to help and assist people with special needs, he said in a news release.
Snacks and drinks will be provided with local first responders attending to answer questions and concerns.
