Danny A. Lazard, 52, 100 block of Prudhomme Lane, Opelousas. Entry or remaining after being forbidden, excessive sound / loud noise, simple assault. Arrested by Opelousas Police.
Gerald Patton, 35, 1000 block of 5th Street, Mamou. Bench warrant (2 counts). Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Melvinishia Ann Edwards, 20, 700 block of Glen Street, Opelousas. Disturbing the peace. Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff: Church Point man impersonated detective to burglarize house

A Church Point man is accused of impersonating a detective in order to burglarize a residence in Palmetto on June 24, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
When deputies arrived at the residence in the 100 block of Rideau Church Road in Palmetto, the victim told them a person impersonating a detective from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office contacted him immediately before the burglary, Guidroz stated.

November 6
Sanplice Christopher Simien, 43, 600 block of Curette Road, Palmetto. First-degree murder (2 counts), attempted first- degree murder (2 counts). Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Eric Wilson, 32, 100 block of Briarwood Road, Bastrop. Hold for Morehouse Parish, illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm with obliterated serial number. Arrested by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office.

October 23
Mecca Amina Ford, 33, 500 block of East Bellevue Street, Opelousas. Aggravated burglary. Arrested by Opelousas Police.
Janice Marie Barnes, 59, 7600 block of South I-49 Service Road, Opelousas. Criminal conspiracy, simple arson. Arrested by Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal.

Stephanie Faye Dore

Sheriff: Domestic dispute over the phone leads to shooting

A domestic dispute over the telephone ended in a shooting, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
It also ended with the arrested of Stephanie Faye Dore, 29, of the 9600 block of Church Point Highway, Church Point, on a charge of attempted second-degree murder.
Dore and the victim were having a domestic dispute over the phone and when the victim returned to the home in the 500 block of Prairie Ronde Highway, he left the vehicle.
Dore then went inside of the vehicle and grabbed a handgun, which she immediately pointed at the victim, Guidroz stated.
