Megan Reed Francois

Woman blames $80K theft on gambling problem

A Mamou woman said a gambling problem led her to use a Eunice company’s credit cards to steal about $80,000, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
Megan Reed Francois, 33, of the 2200 block of Duculus Road, Mamou, was arrested on April 22 for access device fraud.
The affidavit for the arrest warrant stated Jeffery Derouen met with a St. Landry Parish Sheriff deputy at the Eunice substation about a embezzlement on April 15.
DeRouen owns Prairie Cajun Brands and Go Fish Freight, all located at 1277 Hwy. 757, Eunice.

Danny A. Lazard, age 50, 200 block of North Railroad Avenue, Opelousas. Disturbing the peace, criminal mischief. Arrested by Opelousas Police.
Jarmanick Jamaine Battles, 31, 4800 block of Joseph Street, Alexandria. Monetary instrument abuse. Arrested by Opelousas Police.

Kendracia Michele Castille, 23, 12600 block of Kuykendahl Road, Houston, Texas. Aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon (2 counts), aggravated criminal damage to property. Arrested by Opelousas Police.
Dalvin Montae Wilson, 20, 100 block of David Neil Road, Rayne. Third-degree rape. Arrested by Leonville Police.

Couple arrested for counterfeiting

An Arnaudville man and Opelousas woman were arrested at an Opelousas motel for counterfeiting.
St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said in a news release that Creig Jacquneaux was in Lafayette Parish on felony warrants.
When detectives went to the motel they made contact with Heather Martin of Opelousas and Jacquneaux where he was placed under arrest on the warrants for Lafayette.
